Interzona - cultural association in Verona

Ada Arduini

Interzona is a cultural association that has been working in this former industrial area of Verona for twenty years now. I started actively working with them eight years ago. We offer cultural activities from October to May and it’s open every weekend offering mainly music concerts and DJ sets but we also offer a theatre program, cinema screenings, videoart, art installations and art exhibitions. Interzona is a non-profit cultural association which means that people that come to our events are all members of the association and they have to buy a membership. We want the membership card to be very cheap because we want to allow the maximum number of people to be part of our artistic program. We are all volunteers - a group of around twenty people working steadily in the place and we are divided into small commissions that take care of different aspects of the association´s life – programming, finance, funding, volunteer´s work etc. We also have about twenty volunteers who come to our events and help out in every way they can and of course they can be also an active part of the team and propose ideas.
